Two things decide most of this before you look at features. First, your aggregator: its platform usually holds the lodgement path and commission data, so a separate CRM often means some double entry. Second, your team size: a solo broker can run well on the aggregator CRM alone, while a team with processors often adds a workflow tool such as BrokerEngine.
Where CallNote fits (it is not a CRM)
CallNote does not replace any CRM above. It does one job: it takes the transcript of a client call and writes the file note in your format, so the conversation you had on the phone gets onto the file. It never records calls. Transcripts arrive automatically from Aircall, Dialpad or Microsoft Teams, or you paste or upload one, or dictate your own recap after an in-person meeting. It includes five mortgage broking templates, including an NCCP compliance note and a refinance review, or you can build one from a past note of yours.
Be clear on how the note reaches your CRM. CallNote delivers notes straight into HubSpot, Clio and Microsoft Dynamics 365. It has no connection to Salestrekker, Mercury Nexus, MyCRM, BrokerEngine, Infynity or Effi. For those, you copy the finished note into the client record or attach the PDF. If your CRM's own note tool already does the job, such as MyNoteWriter at LMG, use that first. To check what your notes cover now, run one through the free NCCP file note compliance checklist.
Aggregator CRMs: Mercury, MyCRM, Infynity and Suite360
For many brokers the CRM comes with the aggregator. That has real advantages: no extra subscription, the lender panel and lodgement path are built in, and compliance workflows match what your aggregator audits.
Mercury Nexus (Connective)
Connective calls Mercury Nexus an all-in-one platform for brokers and says Connective members get it at no extra cost. Its FAQ lists client management, compliance, application lodgement, analytics, lead capture, credit checks, open banking, borrowing capacity calculators, client data capture, compliance workflows and DigiSign, plus integrations and an open API. It says the platform captures notes as you go, with built-in compliance prompts. It comes with Connective membership.
MyCRM (LMG)
LMG describes MyCRM as one platform for residential, asset and commercial finance. Its site lists digital fact finds, automated client updates, post-settlement automations, email campaigns, integrated best interests duty notes and audit-ready records, and integrations with CoreLogic, Quickli, illion and Scantek, plus an open API. It names four AI tools: MyNoteWriter, which it says creates audit-ready best interests duty notes, client summaries and exit strategies; MyDataAnalyst; MyDocuments, which classifies, renames and redacts documents; and MyQualityAssurance, which flags potential issues. LMG's pricing page says every residential service plan includes MyCRM.
Infynity (Finsure)
Finsure says Infynity was developed by its in-house team. It lists an intuitive user experience, a client centre, automated processes, marketing tools including SMS, email campaigns and automated customer journeys, a Service Store of third-party integrations, and inbuilt compliance functionality. Finsure does not publish a separate price for it.
Suite360 and BrokerEngine Plus (AFG)
AFG describes Suite360 as its single stop for broker technology: BrokerEngine Plus for lodgement, customer management and product selection, Analytics, the Learn platform, and access to its lender panel and Help Centre. AFG's BrokerEngine Plus page lists direct lodgement to ApplyOnline, the FinanceVault client portal, a loan comparison tool, deal-specific checklists, and an integrated credit guide, privacy consent and credit proposal. AFG says pricing depends on your business setup and quotes after a demo, and BrokerEngine's pricing page notes a bundled fee for Suite360.

Independent CRMs: Salestrekker, BrokerEngine and Effi
An independent CRM stays with you if you change aggregator, and some are built for team workflow that aggregator platforms handle less well. The trade-off is cost and, often, entering data in two places. Ask your aggregator which CRMs it supports before you sign anything.
Salestrekker
Salestrekker calls itself the most complete CRM for finance and mortgage brokers, with home loan, asset finance and commercial lending tools. Its site lists customisable workflows and visual boards, conditional automation, a client portal, finance calculators, and product comparison, recommendation and compliance documents. Integrations listed include ABN Lookup, CoreLogic, Equifax, Google Drive and Dropbox.
Salestrekker pricing. Its pricing page lists direct prices for Salestrekker 2.0: Broker Support at $99.99 a user a month plus GST, for admin staff and processors, without products and calculators; Premium Broker at $249.99 a user a month plus GST, which adds broker tools for home loans, asset and commercial finance, lender policy search and Salestrekker AI; and Enterprise on application. It says reseller pricing may differ, which matters because many brokers get Salestrekker through an aggregator. Salestrekker says its AI helps write application submission notes and compliance comments, and that the broker's input is required to make sure they are compliant and accurate.
BrokerEngine
BrokerEngine describes itself as workflow software for mortgage brokers and says it is used by more than 3,000 mortgage professionals across all major aggregators. It lists customisable workflows with auto-prioritised tasks and checklists, automated emails and SMS, colour-coded deal stages that flag deals at risk, the FinanceVault client portal included at no extra cost, and a reviews dashboard that triggers client reviews at interest-only expiry, fixed rate expiry and other milestones. We did not find AI features named on its home or pricing pages.
BrokerEngine pricing. The pricing page lists the version for brokers at any aggregator at $163.90 a broker user a month including GST paid monthly, or $136.58 paid annually, and a support user at $108.90 including GST paid monthly. The lodgement-enabled version for AFG brokers is $220 a broker user a month including GST paid monthly. A Kickstart setup program is a one-off $1,000 plus GST per broker group. BrokerEngine says it has no free trial and no fixed-term contracts, and that you can export your data at any time in CSV format.
Effi
Effi puts AI and lead handling up front. Its pricing page lists an AI SMS chatbot that contacts clients and leads to book appointments, AI Assist for prepared replies, an AI Document Analyser, an AI Notetaker, a voice and SMS AI agent, a client portal, Quickli integration, and integration with Connective Mercury and Salestrekker. The Professional plan is $180 a broker a month and $120 a non-broker, with no minimum seats and no lock-in. The Small Business plan is $220 a broker a month with a 10-seat minimum, a yearly commitment and a $1,200 setup cost. Effi notes that selected AI features and add-ons may include usage-based charges.
HubSpot for mortgage brokers
HubSpot is a general sales and marketing CRM, not a broking platform. Its Sales Hub pricing page in Australian dollars lists a free plan for up to 2 users, Starter and Professional seats whose price depends on the billing term, and Enterprise from A$240 a seat a month. It is strong on pipelines, email, marketing automation and integrations, and paid plans include AI features paid for with HubSpot Credits.
What it does not have is anything specific to broking: no lender panel, no lodgement, no credit guide or credit proposal, no serviceability calculators. If you run HubSpot for leads and marketing, the loan work still happens in your aggregator's platform. HubSpot is also one of the CRMs CallNote publishes notes to directly, so a call note can land on the HubSpot contact without copy and paste. See Aircall call notes to HubSpot for how that works.
How to choose the best CRM for mortgage brokers in Australia
- Start with your aggregator's platform. List what it already does: client records, lodgement, compliance documents, client portal, calculators. Many brokers need nothing more.
- Find the gap that costs you time. Common ones are team workflow, chasing documents, lead follow-up, and writing up calls. Buy for that gap only.
- Count the double entry. If a separate CRM means typing each client twice, the time saved elsewhere may disappear.
- Ask how data gets out. BrokerEngine publishes that you can export in CSV. Ask every other vendor, and your aggregator, the same question before you commit.
- Check the compliance record it leaves. ASIC expects evidence of compliance with the best interests duty to come mainly from your records (RG 273.21), including the conversations with the client, the options and the reasons for the recommendation (RG 273.165). Ask what an auditor would see in each CRM.
- Trial with live deals. Run two or three real clients through it, including the processor's part of the job.
Getting the client call onto the file
Every CRM above stores notes. Most of the information that goes into a best interests duty note, though, comes from a phone call: what the client wants, what matters to them, the options you explained and why one suits them better. Section 158LA of the National Consumer Credit Protection Act 2009 requires you to act in the client's best interests, and ASIC lists relevant conversations with the client among the records it generally expects you to keep (RG 273.165). Some CRMs now help with the write-up: Salestrekker says its AI drafts submission notes and compliance comments, LMG says MyNoteWriter creates best interests duty notes and client summaries, and Effi lists an AI Notetaker. Ask each vendor what its tool works from, because a note is only as good as what it captures from the conversation.
If your CRM does not cover this, that is the gap CallNote is built for. You can see the format in mortgage broker file note templates, and the wider stack in what software do mortgage brokers use. If your CRM is Salestrekker, Mercury Nexus, MyCRM or BrokerEngine, the finished note goes in by copy and paste or PDF. If you are not sure your files would pass review, the file note audit readiness checker takes a few minutes.
Common questions
What is the best CRM for mortgage brokers in Australia?
For many brokers it is the CRM their aggregator supplies: Mercury Nexus at Connective, MyCRM at LMG, Infynity at Finsure, or Suite360 with BrokerEngine Plus at AFG. Brokers who want an independent system usually compare Salestrekker, BrokerEngine and Effi. The right pick depends on your aggregator, team size and how much double entry you will accept.
How much does Salestrekker cost?
Salestrekker's pricing page lists Salestrekker 2.0 direct prices of $99.99 a user a month plus GST for Broker Support and $249.99 a user a month plus GST for Premium Broker, which includes Salestrekker AI and lender policy search. Enterprise pricing is on application. Salestrekker says reseller pricing may differ, so check with your aggregator.
How much does BrokerEngine cost?
BrokerEngine's pricing page lists $163.90 a broker user a month including GST paid monthly, or $136.58 paid annually, and $108.90 for a support user. The AFG version with direct lodgement is $220 a broker user a month including GST. Its Kickstart setup is a one-off $1,000 plus GST per broker group. It does not offer a free trial.
What is Mercury CRM at Connective?
Mercury Nexus is Connective's broker platform. Connective says members get it at no extra cost, and lists client management, compliance workflows, application lodgement, credit checks, open banking, borrowing capacity calculators, DigiSign, analytics and an open API. It comes with Connective membership rather than as a separate subscription.
Can a mortgage broker use HubSpot as their CRM?
Yes, but HubSpot is a general CRM with no lender panel, lodgement or credit documents. A broker using it for leads and marketing still lodges loans through their aggregator's platform. HubSpot lists a free plan for up to 2 users, with paid Sales Hub plans priced per seat in Australian dollars.
Does CallNote integrate with Salestrekker, Mercury Nexus, MyCRM or BrokerEngine?
No. CallNote has no connection to Salestrekker, Mercury Nexus, MyCRM, BrokerEngine, Infynity or Effi. You copy the finished file note into the client record or attach it as a PDF. CallNote delivers notes directly to HubSpot, Clio and Microsoft Dynamics 365. It is not a CRM itself.
